Warriors was originally created by Erin Hunter. Katie7Flubber created Warriors Returned, a book series similar to Erin Hunter's Warriors. All terms [ex. twoleg, ShadowClan, herbs, etc.] were created by Erin Hunter.

Lurking Dangers, Chapter 1

Ravenkit

"Watershine! Wake up! Nightwing, Snowkit, and Mapleclaw are gone!" Ravenkit slammed on Watershine's soft paws.
     "Okay, I'm up," she yawned.
They rushed through the nursery, trying not to wake Pantherkit and Ashkit. Pantherkit opened her eyes a little, but closed them and went back to sleep. Ravenkit gulped when she saw her sister's bright red eyes. She was born that way, like Snowkit was born blind.
Watershine and Ravenkit rushed into the clearing. Racing to the entrance, they collided with Stoneclaw.
"Where are you going?" he asked Watershine.
"Nightwing and Mapleclaw are missing." his mate replied.
     "Don't forget Snowkit." Ravenkit mumbled.
Stoneclaw stepped aside to let them through. Ravenkit knew he felt worried about letting his mate go into a possible danger. When they got outside, Ravenkit heard a tiny shriek. She stopped dead, staring up at Watershine. "Did you hear that shriek? I think it was Snowkit!"
Watershine shrugged. "I didn't hear anything."
Suddenly, she heard it again. "This way!" she called. They raced deep into the forest, until they stopped near the river that bordered with ThunderClan. Ravenkit saw a small, drenched body lying near the river. Nightwing was bowing her head to it, and Mapleclaw was snickering on the other side of the border.
     "Snowkit! No!" Ravenkit wailed.
Paws suddenly hit Ravenkit hard. She awoke in shock, seeing Ashkit's tiny kit body rolling over her. She got up, shaking Ashkit off. Ashkit continued playing. "You can't catch me, Redeyes!" she teased Pantherkit. Pantherkit stopped and sighed.
"Hey, atleast your not as bad as Hollykit." Ravenkit pointed out. Hollykit had one green eye and one blue eye, and her tail was white with black spots, when the rest of her body was black with white spots.
"Not as bad?" Pantherkit retorted and walked away.
Sighing, not realizing how that could have hurt her sister until it was too late, she walked towards Ashkit. She was biggest of the litter, making her more rude and tease cats a lot. "Ashkit," Ravenkit started, "You should be more nice to our Clan. Pantherkit is already sad for her life, with your teasing, and soon its going to start with Hollykit and Shadekit, and possibly me."
Ashkit just shrugged. "You can't tell me what to do!" she retorted and ran off to Hollykit. She opened her mouth and said something, and Hollykit started wailing. Ravenkit knew she had called her a name, such as "Crazykit" or "Weirdkit".
Why does Ashkit have to be so rude and annoying? Shes so stubborn! When she is told to stop by Nightwing, she thinks that she doesn't mean it because she is apparently loved so much. Ravenkit thought. Sooner or later, I'm going to ask Nightwing to tell her that she isn't joking.
"Let all cats gather under Highrock for a Clan meeting!" Bravestar's yowl broke Ravenkit's thoughts.
Ashkit rushed to Nightwing, "Can I go to the meeting, pleeeaase?" she pleaded. Nightwing sighed. "Maybe next time." Ashkit walked away, sighing. Ravenkit trotted up to Nightwing. "Good choice." she murmured.
Nightwing flicked her ears, signaling for Ravenkit to come.
I get to go to the meeting!
When they sat down, Duskpaw was standing next to Bravestar on Highrock, and Dustfoot was smiling proudly.
Mapleclaw would have been proud, too. Ravenkit sighed. Mapleclaw was Duskpaw's mother. It's for the Clan's good that Mapleclaw was exiled. She caused Redpaw's bloody fang, and she killed my brother.
Ravenkit looked up at Highrock as Bravestar started speaking.
"Today a noble apprentice has been trained to become a warrior." Bravestar turned her head towards Dustfoot. "Has Duskpaw trained well enough to be welcomed into life as a warrior?" she questioned.
"Yes." Dustfoot replied. "She has learned to hunt, how to fight, and how to become a loyal warrior of ShadowClan."
"Very well." Bravestar approved and lifted her head to the sky. "I, Bravestar, leader of ShadowClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained well to learn the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior in her turn. Duskpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code, even at the cost of your life?"
"I do." Duskpaw raised her head in determination.
"Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name: Duskpaw, from this moment on you will be known as Dusksky. StarClan honors your loyalty and faith." Bravestar announced.
     "Dusksky! Dusksky!" the Clan cheered.
Dusksky bowed her head to the Clan, and Ravenkit looked up at her in astonishment. Dusksky caught Ravenkit's eye, and they shared a warm gaze at eachother. Dusksky smiled and Ravenkit felt that there might be friendship in the future. Then a voice broke into Ravenkit's mind.
"Trust who you can trust, but beware those who trust the ones they can't trust."
Ravenkit jumped and whirled around, but saw nothing. Panting, she felt moonlight and darkness on her fur. Looking up, she saw stars appearing in the sky. Nightwing nudged her towards the nursery. She walked slowly towards the den, trying to ignore the pain in her stomach for food. She could smell freshly killed prey being brought in from the dusk patrol, that included Redpaw, Patchpaw, Brambleswipe and Blackwind. Ravenkit yawned and sinked into her nest and closed her eyes.

Ravenkit woke up, realizing it was darker. Looking at the entrance, she saw Redpaw blocking the moonlight from flowing in. Squinting, she realized he had prey with him. Redpaw padded up to Nightwing and dropped a fat rabbit at her paws. "Its for you and the kits" he told her. "And, heres an extra piece for Ravenkit." he went on, dropping a small squirrel. "I was watching her when I wasn't on dusk patrol, and she was behaving well, other than Ashkit..." his voice trailed off and he looked stubbornly at the yawning gray ball of fur.
Ravenkit flattened her ears in embarrassment and shock. Redpaw stalks me?
When she was done eating, Ravenkit tried to get back to sleep, but all she could think about was Dusksky. Shes a great warrior! Ravenkit itched with excitement. And one day I will be a great warrior, too!
